An Encounter
is a power-packed
weekend where men and women break free of every obstacle that prevents them from becoming all that they can be
in Christ. Jesus said: "If you
hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will
know the truth, and the truth will SET YOU FREE" (John 8:31-32). If
you want to be
free from habits, bitterness, wrong thoughts, and past
mistakes, sign up today!

Each Encounter is led by a WOCIC pastor or staff member.
Generally, groups contain between 60 and 100 people.
Men and women have separate Encounter
weekends, with the minimum
age set at 16 (if you are 18 or younger, you must have your
parent's or guardian's permission ... see registration
form).

We use an excellent campsite and retreat facility that can
accommodate our group sizes. The camp is clean, well-staffed and
within 30 minutes of Bradenton. Please note that the
campsite is a non-smoking facility.

The cost is $160 for a participant
and
$100
for a server. This fee covers two nights of lodging,
six meals, snacks, transportation to and
from the camp site, and other amenities. Note, all payments
are non-refundable, non-transferable, and are not tax deductible.

column that says "The
Encounter Registration".

All participants meet at
WOCIC's "The Meeting Place" on
Friday evening at 5:30 PM, where they receive name &
luggage tags, as well as room assignments
(click
here
for directions to
"The Meeting Place"). We ask that
participants be dropped off by someone so that cars
won't be left in the church parking lot. Once we arrive at the camp site,
dinner will be served. After dinner, the
Encounter starts with sessions on
Friday evening, throughout Saturday, and on Sunday until 5:00 pm.
We are often asked by participants if they can leave at certain
times during the weekend ... that defeats the purpose and the
approach of the Encounter. It's a journey that begins on
Friday and lasts through Sunday, so we ask that all attendees
make a commitment to stay for the entire weekend. After we leave
the campsite on Sunday afternoon, we return to the Lakewood
Ranch YMCA for a "welcome home celebration" reception - which is an exciting, high-energy finale to
the Encounter weekend (click
here
for
directions to the Lakewood Ranch YMCA). Please invite your family and friends
to attend this service. Additional information will be provided to
participants when they sign up.
